The Water Oak is a medium to large deciduous
tree that in the wild grows in neutral to acid
water-logged, soils. It transplants easily and is fast-growing; the wood is strong, and the tree's shape is rounded. However, if over fertilized the resulting wood can be weak, and the tree's shape becomes spindly. The Water Oak produces green flowering catkins in spring, and small acorns in fall. |
