Red Oaks

White Oaks

Red oak acorns take two years to mature. The inside of the acorn cup is fuzzy. The leaves are sharply lobed with spiny tips. The bark is dark gray and furrowed.

White oaks produce acorns annually, and the inside of the acorn cup is smooth.The leaves are rounded lobes. The bark is generally whitish-gray and scaly.
