Excellent street or lawn or evergreen tree. Moderate grower with bronzy new growth maturing to a deep glossy green. Numerous tiny scented white flowers in summer. Its blue-black olive-like fruit in winter will not stain patios.

Very ornamental effect is produced by older leaves turning bright red before dropping.
