In any season, the Drummond Red Maple exhibits crimson and scarlet colors: small red spring flowers, red winged seeds (samaras), red leaf stems, and reddish new leaves.

It is a fast growing, large tree with an upright oval crown. It is especially suited for moist areas.

Fall color development is not always reliable in Southeast Texas's autumn conditions.
