Shrubs are useful for screens, barriers, hedges, backgrounds and foundation plantings. Smaller shrubs complement flower borders and visually lead your eyes to larger background plantings. Many varieties can also provide food, hiding places from predators, shady resting spots, and great nesting habitat for wildlife.
