California Poppy (Eschscholzia californica) are native to California and Mexico. Their low height combined with golden orange flowers provide a riot of color. The hills of California couldn't be golden without them. Needs sun, poor soil with good drainage. While it blooms starting in April, the leaves make an elegant ground cover over bulbs. |

Cyclamen. The Queen of Winter Annuals.
Yes, they are expensive, but with them you get the
biggest bang for your buck. Performs best in in shady
locations with loamy, sandy soil and good drainage.
Blooms November through May. Afterwards the clumps of
silver veined leaves make a nice ground cover. If planted in the
right spot, they'll rebloom the next year. Height 8" - 10", space 12". Available beginning in late October/early November. |

Dianthus (Dianthus chinensis) are hardy annuals that provide continual color with their bright open faces. Full sun or half day light is fine for them. In half day light locations, Dianthus becomes perennial, its low height making a good looking ground cover. Height 8 - 12 ". Space 12". Blooms November through June. |
